Without artistic training, and with the humor of someone who, according to his LinkedIn profile, "stopped drawing in CM2," Rits began his artistic career by drawing doodles * on abandoned bulky items. Street furniture and abandoned objects, under the strokes of his felt pen, became his first means of expression; his role: to give new life and value to what society throws away. A true up-cycling * of everyday life, a gentle but sharp critique of consumerism that has become excessive.
His work has recently found an echo in several local collaborations such as the Chapellerie LeBrun, the Printemps store and the L'Heure Tranquille shopping center in Tours, but this exhibition marks a first: nine canvases, all recovered, reworked and diverted, bear witness to his mischievous view of the world.
Very active on LinkedIn , Rits also uses his artistic practice and his anonymous posture to denounce the excesses of the world of work: opportunistic influencers or influvoleurs *, abuse of corporate language, managerial excesses, etc.
* Doodle is a drawing discipline, inspired by African art and the work of the artist Keith Haring, which relies on the repetition of one or more patterns.
* “ Up-cycling ” means the action of recovering materials or products that are no longer used in order to give them a second life of superior quality.
* “ Influvoleurs ” is a portmanteau word denouncing certain influencers who use their position for self-interested or deceptive purposes.
